Years 1590 - 1609
From 'Historical Monuments in the County of Dorset', Royal Commission on Historical Monuments, 1970... Lowbrook Farm 'has timber-frame walls on rubble plinths and is roofed with thatch. To the west is a modern extension. The original building is of late 16th or early 17th century and was single-storied: an upper story was added perhaps in the 18th century. Inside large fireplaces placed back-to-back under a central chimney-stack have been blocked up. At the west end of the old part a doorway that now opens into the modern extension has a rough four-centred head.'
It is believed that little, if any of the original structure still remains.Source: Royal Commission on Historical Monuments/owner |
