Thomas OLDRIDGE born 1818, Wimborne Minister, died 4 Nov 1873 St Helier's Parish Isle of Jersey. Married Susanna VATER, 23 July 1839, Belchalwell Parish, Dorset. Both buried at Mont a l' Abbe Cemetry, St Helier.
Thomas Oldridge (Robert Vater's son-in-law) left Belchalwell in 1846 to go to Jersey where he became a farmer having been a shoemaker in Dorset. Three of his children having gone to Jersey then emigrated to Canada, New Zealand. His grandchildren went off to South Africa, India, America and Australia. There are few of his descendants who still live in the United Kingdom.
